About Medicare Coverage:
Home health services must be medically necessary and ordered by a physician.
For patients who are qualified for Home Health Services, Medicare Part A and B covers the charges for:
  • Part-time skilled nursing care,
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech-language therapy
  • Home health aide services
  • Medical social services 
  • Durable medical equipment (such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, oxygen, and walkers)
  • Medical supplies

Medicare Does Not Cover:

  • 24-hour a day care at home
  • Prescription Drugs
  • Meals delivered to home
  • Homemaker services like shopping, cleaning, and laundry
  • Personal care like bathing, using the toilet, or help in getting dressed given by home health aides when this is the only care needed
